Buy MP3 Songs for Pennies

Many things in Russia are expensive: food, electronics, toys. But most services are pretty cheap.

Two things I found that were inexpensive, were music and dvd's. You can buy them at the subway stations, in department stores, or at the flea-market for about $2.50 a cd, and $5 a dvd. It's common to find cd's full of mp3's as well.

I don't know why these things are so much cheaper in Russia, but they are. When I was in the airport in Moscow, and they were inspecting everyone's bags, we saw lots of bags stuffed with cd's and dvd's.

I was able to come back to the US with some cheap dvd's and a bunch of music, but I wouldn't reccomend going to Russia just to get cheap music and dvd's. It'll cost way too much just to get there, and it's a pain in the butt.
