Where to Buy MP3 Music Online

Welcome to Buy MP3 Music Online. My name is Ed, and a while ago, I was looking for a good place to buy songs in mp3 format online. It seems like the perfect way to buy music to me. MP3's are small enough to be downloaded conveniently, and if you don't want to buy a whole album, why not just pay for and download a few songs at a time?

Free MP3's?

I've looked around the 'net for mp3s before and there are plenty of sites that offer free mp3's, but they are either:

  1. By groups you've never heard of (and don't want to), or
  2. On a server or someone else's computer that requires you to download special software and risk who knows what kind of spyware and viruses.
  3. Downloaded from a file sharing network that does not have the full album, has a limited and constantly changing selection, and has unknown quality

Now I run Linux on my machine, so there's no way I'm going to get most ofthe software to work for me (LimeWire is an exception), and besides, why can't I just buy mp3's by major artists without having to download special software and possibly break the law?

Where Can I Buy MP3 Songs Legally Online?

I looked around for places where I could buy MP3 music online legally, and I did find some good sites. Apple's I-tunes is supposed to be great, but again, you need special software, and what you can do with the files is restricted. E-music.com is pretty darn cool, but you can't get any major artists. Walmart.com has a surprisingly good selection at about 89¢ a song, but not in mp3 format. Walmart sells songs in a windows media player format (No way I'm getting that to work on Linux). There's one site that advertises unlimited downloads of all the songs you could ever want etc. but when you go to their site, you can't even search through their collection. And I'm supposed to give them money and just trust that they'll have what I'm looking for?

The Best Choice for Music by Major Recording Artists

A few years ago after a trip to Russia, I had plenty of free time on my hands and I was looking for somewhere to legitimately buy mp3's online. In Russia, music and dvds were very cheap and you could buy cd's full of mp3s almost anywhere. Suddenly I remembered a russian site I had seen a long time ago, but forgotten about. When I first came upon it, I was looking for free mp3s and was looking for an mp3 search engine. The site I found is called MP3Sugar. It's a site that sells mp3 downloads for 10¢ a song or 99¢ an album. And there are no monthly charges. You deposit a few dollars into your account there, and you then purchase music until your balance runs out. Sometimes they'll have a promotion where you can deposit only one dollar at first. Registration is of course free, and you can search through the site before you decide to send them any money. Personally, I find the service hard to beat. I've saved a lot of money through them.

How to Use MP3Sugar

The site is in both Russian and English, so if you don't speak Russian, don't worry. Things are a little brief in English, but It's easy to figure out, and the support staff all speak English. Basically, you just register for free and then fund your account. Then you click on buttons and such to purchase tracks and entire albums. You can re-download anything you've bought before if you lose the file or something like that.

I find it's best to use a download manager with the site. Since I use Linux, I use Kget, which I like very much. When I used widows all the time, I remember liking Go-zilla, but I'm sure you can find a good free one for whatever OS you use if you do a google search for download manager.

If you go to the site through my links, I'll get a commision off of your purchases. That's how I can afford to put up this site. You can use the search box on the top of any page to look for what you want and also, you can browse through the albums with the alphabetical links I've created above. I don't update this site as often as possible, so my database of albums is probably not complete. MP3Sugar adds new albums frequently, so if you don't find what you want now, it may be there later.

Just head on over to the site and Register Now. I'm sure you'll be happy with the price and the selection.

Second Choice

I've been using this site for even longer than the other one. They offer a comparable service, but the prices are a little bit higher. I still happily use their services, so if you can't find what you're looking for elsewhere, givethem a shot.

Prices are in USD. Individual tracks may be purchased as well as entire albums. Individual tracks are 0.10 USD each.
